Who Is This About Anyway?

Our lives are not the main plot in the story of the universe!  I know, shocking isn't it.  At best we are a very small subplot to the main storyline.  The main story has everything to do with Jesus Christ and His plans and actions to get mankind back on track with God.  Hold tight now Christ didn't come to make us whole and happy people, I know how can this be?  Well Luke 19:10 says "The Son of man has come to seek and save that which was lost."  I'm pretty sure the lost one is us, just saying.  That just bust a huge hole in the be happy, be whole, be the best you ever preaching that is so prevelant today.

It makes me think about pets and how they are so much a part of our lives.  Having a pet is hard, they take time, money and devotion.  Now don't go all "Butch hates animals" on me.  I have had some really great dogs and cats before, notice the term before.  Not so much now.  Both our dog & cat are "presents" from our youngest daughter.  She has this great quality of rescuing animals and then "presenting" them to us. Works great from her perspective, mine, not so much.  You see pets are NEEDY.  They need food, water, medicine, places to sleep, shots, affection, discipline, WAIT, that sounds alot like our relationship with God.
Ok here is where we differ, they trust us and show affection to us whether we deserve it or not.  See we don't trust God and we show Him our displeasure if we don't get our way.  Now you see the difference?

This will be a big shock to some but the universe, wait for it, DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND US.  Seriously it's not all about us.  Somwhere we have gotten the idea that all of this, I mean everything, is here just for us.  We seem to have missed this verse in Colossians.  Colossians 1:16  "For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him."  In Matthew 19:28 we read about thrones & get all excited, then to find out that it's not our's but just a loaner.  That's an "oops , my bad".

Well I guess we can say that God does care more about us than we can imagine.  He loves us not for who we are but for who He is.  This ReThink Possible might just be what we need for us to concentrate on who He is.  Who knows it could quite possible help us with our following skills.
