Truth - Such a Hard Thing To Practice

Truth, man that is a hard thing to pin down in this day & age.  There seems to be variations of, or shades of truth that fills every facet of our lives.  It is hard, not impossible mind you, but hard to find the real truth in this world of changing values.  This is precisely the reason there are so many people out in the world who are "religious" classified as "seekers".  They are seeking truth that makes sense to them, their life & the world.  The lines are blurred by society, the world, and sad to say by you and me.

Whether we want to admit it or not we all have double standards.  Our judgement is clouded when it involves a friend, family member and ourselves.  We think, well there ought to be different standards for "special occassions and circumstances".  You see it is hard to set down this true & fair stuff and it really be true & fair.  Life is easy when things are black & white.  It really is a shame that only a few things are black & white.

All of us had rules around the house when our children were growing up.  Now the grandchildren have come on the scene, well let's just say they are not rules as much as they are general guidelines.  General guidelines might be to hard and fast, more like, suggestions to be glanced over from time to time.  Oh never mind there are no real rules.  The grandchildren are at NaNa & Pops, life is to short for so many rules.  Beds are made to be jumped on, that grape juice spilled on the carpet, we were going to change that out for more durable floors anyway.  You Parents get so upset over things like running through the house screeching like a teradactile.( Not up on dinosaurs spelling right now.) They are laughing we are laughing,what's the problem?

God set down 10,count them 10, rules to follow so what did we do?  Immediately we came up with 100s of rules & guidelines to follow the guidelines set down to follow the rules. This truth thing is tiring isn't it?God is not complicating our lives, WE are!

Mt. 19:23-28  3 times Jesus says, "I tell you the truth", so we might want to slow down, sit down, hush and listen to what He is saying to us.  In John 14:6 Jesus says, "I am the way, The Truth and the life".  Could it be that if we seek Him then all of this truth stuff will fall into place?  Sounds like a plan, ReThink Possible!!!
